PRAGATI VIODHYA MANDIR started as a Pre-Primary school on June, 9, 1994 in Tiger Apartments, Tisk, Ponda, Goa, a brain child of our Founder Rita Sapra. Her thoughts were to get nearby children and teach them in Hindi and English (as many parents from outside Goa had shifted here due to their jobs or business, and their mother tongue was not Konkani). The school’s beginning was with only two students, but later the numbers grew. The 3 rooms apartment became small to accommodate the student’s enrolment numbers. We bought the adjoining apartment also in 1997 to take care of additional admissions.

We started facing problems with neighbors regarding children noise, then we decided to look around for property to buy or rent. Eventually we moved into new school building in Shivnagari, Farmagudi, Bandora in November 2007 with complete infrastructure and play equipments. This school is situated in quiet place with lots of greenery around and away from main highway, but well connected with tarred road.

In the year 2012 we got permission to start Primary classes ie Std 1 from academic year 2013-14 initially with 5 students. School will always be grateful to all the parents who trusted us to let their ward be our first batch of STD 1.

Our sincere thanks to all teachers, staff and past and present parents and PTA members, who have contributed in her/his way, ensuring best for every student be it academics, sports or extracurricular activities.

25th year gift was to all families as school Founders have added another floor above existing building, a hall for about 200 students, classrooms, computer room and activity room.
